Alternate Hydro Energy Centre (AHEC)
Alternate Hydro Energy Centre (AHEC) was set up at the Institute by the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources, Govt. of India in the year 1982 for imparting training and undertaking R&D work in the field of small hydro-power and other renewable/non-conventional energy sources. The Centre has well equipped laboratories viz., Hydro-mechanical Systems, Computer Aided Design and Information Systems, Control Systems and Bio-mass & Eco-systems. The centre handles consultancy and sponsored projects in the field of small hydro power development and other renewable energy sources and organises short-term training courses to train personnel to design, operate and maintain such power generating systems. The centre offers a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) course in Alternate Hydro Energy Systems. Ph. D. programmes are also offered by AHEC in the field of Alternate Hydro Energy.
The Centre undertakes the work of the preparation of detailed project reports, engineering designs, techno-economic analysis, field execution of small hydro projects, refurbishment of power houses and development of biomass and solar energy systems. The environment and energy auditing of process and allied industries and environment impact assessment of small hydro projects are also dealt by the Centre as its diversified activities. AHEC has expertise for GIS based natural resources mapping and planning.

Carbon Brokers
Focus on promote and support the use of Voluntary Emission Reductions or Verifed Emission Reductions (VERs). A type of carbon offset exchanged in the voluntary market for carbon credits. Carbon Brokers, S.A. identified a necessity from mini and micro renewable energy developers to obtain the advantage of VERs over their projects. VERs may be developed and calculated in compliance with one of several VER standards. These set out rules defining how emission reductions are measured. Standards provide assurance for buyers of VERs. At a minimum, all VERs should be verified by an independent third-party.
Normally, the micro hydro projects are going to work on insolate grid. Carbon Brokers, S.A. provide all the administration and technical advice through different schemes for their emissions in order to demonstrate their contribution to mitigatin climate change.
Example projects: Hydro, wind, biomass, etc.
Carbon Brokers, S.A. is working as Senior Energy Advisor for the “Comunidad La Igualdad” low income community to develop their hydro potential
Celapeh
Is An international non-governmental, non-profit organization, dedicated to promoting and coordinating development of small hydropower (SHP) in Latin America. facilitating the efficient use of water resources available in the region, to bring to the most vulnerable communities a clean, appropriate and accessible energy, as a powerful tool to generate capacities and opportunities for the integral development of these communities.
