Institute for Water Resources Planning (IWRP)

Established in 1961, the Institute for Water Resources Planning (IWRP) operates under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) as a leading governmental research and policy institution dedicated to the comprehensive study and management of water resource systems in Vietnam. The mission of IWRP is to support the sustainable management of Vietnam’s water resources by promoting efficient use and ensuring the protection of water-related ecosystems. Recognizing the critical role of water in national development, health, and environmental sustainability, IWRP works on optimizing water management strategies across various sectors, including agriculture, energy, urban development, and water supply. Through collaborating with local communities and international partners, IWRP is at the forefront of developing innovative solutions for water management and allocation, aiming to enhance the resilience and sustainability of Vietnam’s water systems.
