by | Sep 2, 2021 | H, Members

Hydro Lab Private Limited was established in Kathmandu, Nepal in January 1999 with a funding support from the Norwegian Government (NORAD), in close co-operation with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and the International Centre for Hydropower (ICH) in Trondheim, Norway. It is the objective of Hydro Lab to assist in the achievement of national development goals by providing an effective base of research and development, training, design and consultancy services in the field of Hydraulics Engineering. Hydro Lab Pvt. Ltd. is the only research organisation providing specialised hydraulic model studies within water resources engineering in Nepal.

The laboratory will be a research centre for planning and conducting hydraulic scale model studies related to complex Himalayan rivers and reservoirs and solving the problems otherwise unsolved by the common hydraulic theory and practice. The result of the study is to plan and to focus on optimizing the design of hydraulic structures and save cost on design and operation of river engineering projects.
